SEPTEMBER READER SURVEY RESULTS

Last month’s reader survey asked about the downsides of working in healthcare. Here are the results:

Nearly half of all participants (45%) reported feeling discouraged, overextended or unfulfilled once a week or more. A staggering 45% say working in healthcare is less rewarding than they expected whereas only 16% say it’s more rewarding. Still, these experiences haven’t dampened the spirits of those who choose healthcare as their profession. Nearly 70% would consider themselves more positive than negative at the office.

The data demonstrates the duality of healthcare: It’s one of the most rewarding professions on the planet and one of the most stressful.
